Diamond in the Rough
Amazing stay! Sam and family have meticulously taken care of this gem of a cottage. We will never forget this place, it has everything for a classic lake cottage, including both sunrise and sunset! One down side was the very steep driveway but not wanting to leave often anyway isn't a bad thing! I would recommend bringing a confident driver and all-wheel drive (just tricky w big SUV or truck but still doable)
Definitely would come back!
By the owner:: The inspiration to correct the "downside" came this Fall with a beautiful new and stable-to-rain road. And we have added a 17-foot sailboat.

Beautiful Spot
We very much enjoyed our week-long vacation at Kent Cottage and beach. We stayed with our two sons ages 3 and 5 and had a blast swimming, canoeing, relaxing, and exploring. The house is rustic, but has everything you need in terms of kitchen, bathroom, bedrooms, and is very clean. The beach and lake are pristine. You share the beach with members of the Kent family who are nearby and there is plenty of space to spread out. There is a general store right nearby and lots of great recommendations for exploring the area and checking out some of the other towns. Sam was very accommodating and great to work with. Fantastic vacation!

What a Beautiful Beach!
This cottage is an amazing place to stay. The lake and beach are simply incredible. The views are some of the most beautiful in Vermont. The entire place is filled with a timeless rustic charm and warmth. The cottage is neat, clean, including bathroom, beds comfortable. There is a well-supplied kitchen for cooking, nice dishes, silver or just cottage flatware. The experience of having a fine meal with friends or family, is enhanced by the surroundings, and makes for great memories. My two favorite spots are sitting in a chair on the platform right next to the water or resting on the bed in the front room being warmed by the afternoon sun. The lake is simply the cleanest I have ever been swimming in. There is a huge variety of books for anyone to find something of interest to read on a rainy day, or as you go to bed. Having wireless Internet access allows you to connect to the outside world, research the area, or check up on news/weather. There are several comfortable beds, with warm blankets/covers. On some nights the loons can be heard. Their calls are truly beautiful and unforgettable. Early in the morning, you sometimes wake to a lake like a giant mirror. During breakfast, looking out over the lake, you can often see ducks or loons swimming by, with occasional fish jumping. In the evenings there is sometimes a spectacular sunset to welcome the quiet clear cool starlit night. Here you can either sit back and relax or explore the beauty of Vermont's North East. This is a very special place, and highly recommended.

Quaint cottage on beautiful lake
My family of five stayed at the Kent Camp for a week, and fell in love. The cottage had everything you need, including two boats, and spectacular views of the lake. We visited the beach nearly every afternoon, and it was also gorgeous. People on the lake were very friendly, and many knew the Kents. There are spectacular hikes in the mountains surrounding the lake, a rope swing about 1/4 mile down fro the cottage, Devil's rock to jump from, and an ice cream shack about 1 mile from the camp. We loved it there, and are trying to figure out how to spend even more time at the Kent Camp next summer.

Cozy cottage right on the Beautiful Lake!!
Everything that was stated in the description rang true to its word. It is an older, but absolutely well taken care of cottage right on the lake. The views, when you wake up and when you hit the pillow at night, are beyond gorgeous. Our kids and I had a wonderful time both at the cottage, on the lake, or on the beach, which is on the other side of the lake--and private! We look forward to the day when we can return, which will hopefully be soon.

Quaint, secluded cottage on spectacular lake
Our family rented this house last summer, and we had a wonderful experience and we would definitely recommend this place to others. For those looking for a secluded getaway on a stunning lake, this house can't be beat. The views from in the house are wonderful, and every night we experienced a spectacular sunset that our 2 year old still talks about.
We found the cottage to be well equipped with everything you might need. We used the grill each night, which works great, and the kitchen has plenty of cookware and plates. We would recommend buying food elsewhere and bringing it, as local stores are somewhat limited in selection. There are not a lot of local high quality restaurants, so you are better off bringing good food with you.
We either took the motor boat (which we had no problem using, and we are not boaters) or drove around to the private beach each morning. We soaked up the warm morning sun and had the entire large stretch of private beach all to our own. This could not have been more ideal for our 2 year old daughter, who was able to wade in the shallow water safely and play in the sand. We stayed Labor day week, and the water was crisp but warm enough for all of us to swim. We also enjoyed some great local hikes, especially Wheeler Mountain.
We had a very memorable experience at this cottage and I would recommend it to anyone seeking the peace and seclusion of a spectacular place.

Discovering a treasure
Our family was enchanted with this cottage from the moment it came into view. Our week-long stay proved a delightful adventure in every way, so much so that we have all agreed that a yearly vacation in the Northeast Kingdom will become a family tradition.
We fished and boated Lake Willoughby daily, mesmerized by its beauty. We also lake-hopped with our kayaks to a number of nearby bodies of water and enjoyed the cottage's proximity to these lovely places.
The cottage is well stocked with everything a visitor could ask for. The real charm of the cottage is its private setting and the fact that it is waterfront property. A fifteen second walk takes visitors right to the water's edge, where one can fish off the dock, hop on a boat, or simply enjoy the sunset. The view is spectacular and what we Vermonters call "eye candy".
The owner is a most accommodating fellow who even provided fishing poles and spare tackle! Clearly he wanted nothing more than for us to enjoy our stay as he bent over backward to ensure that we were pleased in every way.
We would most certainly recommend this cottage to friends.
